Posted on June 30, 2022

Book now: 14 July

Join us on a journey into cutting edge, father-inclusive data collection and analysis, in this free event featuring our review of postnatal father-data in UK datasets – part of the Bringing Baby Home evidence review published earlier this month. Book your place here.

The event will include talks from Rebecca Goldman, author of the Bringing Baby Home datasets review, along with Dr Irinya Culpin, whose Focus on Fathers study uses headcams – and Irina Lut, who is exploring ways to link paternal and child records in administrative data.

Who is this event for?

Researchers whose work focuses on fathers, families or children – and/or makes use of longitudinal studies or administrative data; funders of such research; and anyone else with an interest in father-inclusive research.

Book now: Black Dads Matter think-in, 19 July

Join us for an online think-in about how to make maternity and other family services more inclusive and supportive of black dads. This is part of a series of consultative events we are running, to feed into a toolkit we are developing with the Royal College of Midwives.

Our panel will include speakers from Future Men, Dope Black Dads and the NHS Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Programme. Find out more and book your place here.

Who is this event for?

Black fathers; other fathers of colour; fathers in families of colour; any of these men’s wives/ partners/ children’s mothers; midwives and other professionals who work with families in the perinatal period; and anyone who researches and/or advocates for fathers, including those in the groups listed above.

Unhappy Father’s Day: the ‘dad-shaped hole’ in NHS maternity services

We spoke to Alastair Stewart on GB News, about Bringing Baby Home, our evidence review about UK fathers in the first year after the birth. You can watch the clip here.

Online Safety

We tell our children to share but online it’s different. In fact, sometimes sharing online can be dangerous. That’s why we’re asking parents to be Share Aware and keep children safe online.

Below we have offered two links to websites created by the NSPCC with advice on helping your child to stay safe on social networks, apps and games.
